SkyBitz has partnered with Hegemon Electronics to add a Trailer/Tractor ID to its solutions suite. The Tractor/Trailer ID solution augments current asset management by remotely identifying the tractor hooked to a trailer. With Tractor/Trailer ID, fleet managers know a driver is picking up the correct trailer. The identification is communicated through the SkyBitz GLS system and displayed on the SkyBitz InSight portal. The sensor transmits a unique, digital identification number at intervals through the trailer seven-way wiring connector. The connection is read and recorded by the SkyBitz sensor, enhancing the ability to capture the exact time of trailer drop off and pick up for customers with significant drop and hook operations. An alarm can report when an unauthorized tractor is connected to a trailer.
