Register Now for the UID & eBusiness Forum in Sacramento
There is still time to register for the upcoming UID & eBusiness Forum. Sponsored by the Department of Defense UID & eBusiness Policy Office, the event will educate suppliers, contractors and military personnel impacted by the Department of Defense Unique Identification (UID) policy on how to achieve successful UID and eBusiness implementation through step-by-step instruction, expert guidance and technology demonstrations.
The Forum will be held at the Sacramento Convention Center in Sacramento, Calif., June 17-18, 2008.
The UID Policy, which became mandatory in 2004, requires suppliers to uniquely identify every item the DoD acquires as an end item costing more than $5,000 using an ISO 15434-compliant, two-dimension Data Matrix bar code. All Department of Defense (DoD) contractors, project managers and contracting officers are required to learn and understand UID requirements wherever UID is specified, as well as be aware of other Defense-wide eBusiness initiatives. The requirement to uniquely identify items applies to domestic and foreign contractors providing deliverables to DoD throughout the supply chain. Additionally, all DoD serially managed assets must be registered in the IUID Registry.
Speakers include representatives from Northrop Grumman, the UID Policy Office, Pratt & Whitney, Boeing, and a number of other DoD agencies and suppliers.
A special 20% registration discount is being offered for Asset Management News subscribers. Simply enter "ASSET" in the discount code field during online registration. Seating will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis until the event is sold out. To view the agenda or to register, visit www.UIDforum.com.
