Woodstream Improves IT Asset Management Print E-mail

Woodstream, a manufacturer of consumer and professional products, has realized performance gains as a result of deploying CITTIO WatchTower for enterprise-wide network and system monitoring across all of its distributed networks throughout the U.S. and Canada. Selected as part of an IT initiative to consolidate the existing infrastructure that had grown increasingly complex due to a number of acquisitions, CITTIO WatchTower proactively monitors the wide variety of devices that comprise Woodstream's network from wireless access points, servers and routers to switches and personal computers. Because CITTIO provided a single point of visibility into Woodstream's IT infrastructure performance and availability, the Woodstream IT team was then able to better focus on proactive opportunities that complement Woodstream's business.

CITTIO WatchTower and its proprietary Automation Stack instinctively uses Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) to discover devices on the network, fingerprint the operating system and patch level in use, identify what services are active and begin monitoring the devices and services using best practice threshold packages. Woodstream even uses the asset information CITTIO WatchTower collects to tag these items and generate IT asset management reports -- without extensive manual inventories.
